History

Giant Gymnastics was started in March 2008 by our current owner/operator, Jen Nedgial.  With a vision for a clean, family-friendly facility for the community to do gymnastics, she opened the doors at our facility on Alloy Drive. The slogan “Where Kids Come First” was chosen so that it was known that at Giant Gymnastics we cared about the children and the safety in which they are taught gymnastics.

At the first ever registration day, the line up went out the door and around the corner as 50 athlete families waited to sign up.  And we didn’t even have our equipment yet! During this first session, Giant Gymnastics had a tiny staff team of 3 coaches, who were remarkably dedicated to seeing the gym flourish in these first months.

Today, Giant Gymnastics has grown to have about 1000 gymnasts register each year in many programs for babies, toddlers, kids, teens and adults. We have camps during the summer and March Break holidays. We’ve expanded to offer , tumbling, t and a competitive team. Our coaching staff now sits around 27 coaches, CITs and admin staff.

In February 2014, Giant Gymnastics moved from our tiny gym into an amazing space at the old Fort William Collegiate Institute.

Moving into the new gym was a dream come true. As the club continued to grow and expand, Giant Gymnastics’ vision is to continue to offer quality gymnastics instruction to the Thunder Bay community that puts children first.

In the June of 2025 the tough decision was made to downsize due poor maintaining of the FWCI location by the landlord.

The new location of 700 Norah Cresent is dream come true. We feel very blessed to have this new clean, bright, space. Our coaches and athletes are so excited to be training in such a great facility.
